THE MIND OF A CHAMPIAN-How to do Great in any Sport (and in Life)-Part 2

One of the most consistent things I have discovered with massively successful people is the quality of their internal dialogue, especially in sports but also in other areas of life:  business, personal, social, financial, emotional, intellectual, physical, mental and spiritual.

I have a cartoon in my office that depicts a very small football player getting ready to block a very large football player, kind of like the David vs. Goliath scenario.  Above the head of the very small football player is a balloon indicating his thoughts.  In the balloon are written the words, “I think I can!”  “I think I can!”  And I love it!  If David never thought he could defeat Goliath I am confident that he wouldn’t have!

Your internal dialogue is extremely important.  In fact it is more important than you will ever fully realize.  State what you want, affirm it and intend it by using your finest voice qualities while feeling it deep in your heart!

Years ago I read and heard the saying, “Where two or more minds are gathered, there I shall appear.” I know and maybe you know about the practice of “Master-minding” and perhaps, the power of what is called: The I AM CONCEPT.  These both can work miracles when two or more like-minds gather together and share their thoughts.  (In sports this is what’s called “Teamwork” and truly successful coaches are constantly working at creating this between their team members all of the time).  What has never been explained to me, and I eventually discovered on my own, was that you can create a mastermind with yourself!

Has it ever dawned on you that you have both a conscious and a subconscious mind?  If my math is correct, I do believe that’s one mind (the conscious) and one (the unconscious), which equals two!  Tah-Dah!  Instant Mastermind.  So what I’m talking about here is the most powerful Mastermind there is and that is you connecting consciously and subconsciously with yourself!  What could be better than that?  You now have an incredible Mastermind going on inside of you!  All you have to do is connect your conscious thoughts with your unconscious thoughts (feelings) and you tap into your truly unlimited Super conscious Mind!

Within team sports, imagine that you have total connection with your super conscious mind and your teammates have that total connection with their super conscious minds.  Now imagine that you tune into each other’s super conscious minds all at the same time!  You have everyone totally in alignment with each other’s minds.  How powerful is that?  Can anyone do it?  Absolutely!  Does it take effort, practice, commitment and desire to do so?  Yes!

Start today!  And if you need help remember that you are not in this alone.  Check out my MP3 download Mental Master Mind and see what you think.  And know that I also love helping teams and individuals with sports of any kind.

Also consider all of my MP3 downloads on my website or schedule your own private live session to have something customized just for you and/or your team!!  If you have any questions or would like some personal guidance or coaching, feel free to give me a call at 303-979-5498  or visit my website at www.AskAHyp.com.  You’ll be glad you did!

THE MIND OF A CHAMPIAN-How to do Great in Any Sport

Having had the pleasure of working with people from darn near every sport you can imagine, and then some, and with people as young as 5 years old, I find it amazingly interesting that everyone who has done excellent has thought in the same way!  In fact Napoleon Hill wrote a book years ago entitled “Think and Grow Rich” in which he notes that after interviewing hundreds of very successful people from around the world, the one thing they all had in common is that they all had a similar way of thinking.  They all thought in the same way!  This is definitely true in sports.  In his classic book, author Hill breaks down their thinking into 13 specific pieces or parts.

The first thing Napoleon Hill mentions is “Positive Mental Attitude”.  I definitely agree!  If you don’t think and believe you will be successful, then who are you kidding?  In his book “Think and Grow Rich” Hill writes, “What the mind of man can conceive and believe he can achieve.”  (And it just doesn’t pertain to man)

Your beliefs come only from your thoughts.  This morning I spoke to a parent who is bringing in their 10 year old.  The 10 year old was hurt by a baseball and the 10 year old has not been the same since.  What this 10 year old most likely is thinking is that the next time they play ball, the ball will most likely hurt them again.  That is an imprint on their memory banks that can last a lifetime!  There are a number of excellent approaches that can be helpful and can give this young person permanent resolution for a lifetime.

One option is to guide this person into a relaxed, focused concentration state, which we call hypnosis, and give this person some very powerful positive suggestions about how they would like to be while they are playing ball.  If done effectively, this can result in permanent resolution.

Another option, and these may need to be combined or done independently, is to have the ball player revisit the original sensitizing event and re-evaluate the occurrence.  This is called regressive therapy and also is very effective.  (Some times the athlete doesn’t even recall what the mental block or memory is consciously).  Imagine the difference between being in a roller coaster and simply watching a roller coaster in a movie.  These are referred to as fully associated vs. disassociated.  When you are fully associated to an experience it’s hard to objectively resolve it.  When you are disassociated from an experience it’s much easier to change the perspective, see it differently, and release any attachment or feelings about it.  This can be life changing and is done through a combination of hypnosis and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques.

A third option is called “collapsing negative anchors or triggers”.  If every time a person thinks about a situation a feeling comes up that limits them, then using an NLP, “collapsing negative anchors or triggers” technique might be the best.  The human brain can only feel one feeling at a time.  Try putting one of your hands into a bucket of ice water, and the other hand into a bucket of very warm water and see if you can tell the difference. If you associate a number of positive feelings to a touch on a fingernail, every time you touch that fingernail, you will feel positive.  If you associate the negative feeling (fear or limiting belief) to a touch on another fingernail, every time you, or someone else touches that fingernail there will be the negative feeling.  When you or someone else touches both fingers at the same time, they will neutralize the negative felling!  Really amazing.  Try it some time or give me a call and I will be happy to take you through it.

I will post an MP3 file on my website next week offering these techniques and look for my next you Tube with the “collapsing” technique demonstrated.

When You’re Ready for a Smoke-Free Life

Since the beginning of our blogging, we have covered some very interesting topics, thoughts, ideas and techniques about how to have a better life.  Today I am writing about the most popular reason people have come to see me and that is, how to stop smoking, without withdrawals, cravings, urges or “the Jones” and without gaining weight!

In this short space I will give you as much information as possible and based on the response I will continue in our next blog.

My Story
So how did we get to be addicted to smoking in the first place, and what can we do about it?

Well, I remember bouncing on my grandfather’s knee at the ripe old age of five, and watching him smoke.  I loved my grandfather and wanted to be just like him.  Subconsciously, I probably even wanted to smell like him, too!  So, I had my first cigarette at 5 years old, bouncing on grandfather’s knee.

Boy did I get sick!  I remember coughing and gagging, getting really dizzy and even changing colors to some shade of gray.  Do you think my body was trying to tell me something?

As I continued to smoke, by the age of sixteen, I ended up with migraine headaches nearly everyday.  I had a bleeding ulcer, a pot-holed face and dandruff so bad my buddies asked if it was “snowing” outside (and it of course wasn’t).  I slept 12 hours a day and woke up tired.  I had virtually no memory (there was a day in high school when I couldn’t remember how to spell the word, “the”), weighed around 70 pounds more than I do today and I was legally blind.  (I sat in the front row in high school, wore “Coke-bottle” glasses and still couldn’t read the blackboard.)  But I sure liked seeing my grandpa smile and laugh especially thinking that I caused it.

How did you feel smoking your first cigarette?  Did you feel terrific, or did your body try to tell you, “Hey stupid, what the heck are doing up there?  Knock it off!  Take a hint!  You’re hurting me!”  How’s your health today?

I’m simply trying to say that I’ve been there and done that.  What got me to change was that I finally got out of denial and defiance and realized where all the pain in my life was coming from.  Yes, I had physical pain with the migraines, ulcer, etc., but it was also the pain of separation, which is the greatest pain any person can ever have.  The pain of separation from my mind, the pain of separation from my Creator, the pain of separation from my friends and family, the pain of separation from my memory, the pain of separation from my ideal weight, the pain of separation from my clear thinking, the pain of separation from a clean smelling body, home, car and clothes.

Have you noticed some cloudy thinking lately and any memory problems?  In addition, have you felt a disconnect from your true self, your Creator, your family and friends, your ideal weight, your job, your goals and dreams, your health, your eyesight and even from your money?  How does that disconnect feel to you?

You know that cigarettes are loaded with all kinds of poisons and yet you still continue to smoke and hurt not only yourself but also your kids (yes even if you smoke outside), your other loved ones and even your pets.  My wife and I lost our beautiful Standard Poodle, Roxie, to lung cancer.  It was terrible.  Roxie could no longer walk or eat and we had to put her down because the breeder smoked cigarettes.

If you care about yourself, your family, your air breathing pets, your associates and customers and others, do everyone a favor and Stop Smoking today!  I sent my brand new book “When You’re Ready for a Smoke-Free Life” to my editor today and it will most likely be available as an eBook on my website next week, and as a self published galley hard copy.  You can also visit my website and download my Mental Magic TM Stop Smoking Now! Audio Program and my Road Relief TMfor a Smoke-Free Life while your driving audio program.

The Questions are the Answers

Since the beginning of our blogging, we have covered some interesting thoughts, ideas and techniques about helping you be better in numerous areas of your life.  Today I am going back to a fundamental topic, and an amazing thought process that will accelerate you to having all the answers you have ever wanted.

This concept goes back to the beginning of time itself and will help expedite your results in every area of your life beyond your wildest dreams.  “Ask and you shall receive.”  Have you ever heard that one?  Do you believe that it’s true?

A friend of mine, Tony Robbins, said that,  “The quality of our lives is the quality of the habitual questions we keep asking ourselves.”  So take a good, long look at the habitual questions you keep asking yourself and see where they have been taking you so far in your life.

Do any of these ring a bell?  “Why does this always happen to me?”  “Why am I so stupid?”  “Why can’t I quit smoking?”  “Why can’t I lose this weight?”

What is a common denominator in each one of those questions?  They all perpetuate the problem! “Why does this always happen to me?”  Will keep those things happening to you!  “Why am I so stupid?”  Will keep you stupid!  “Why can’t I quit smoking?”  Will definitely keep you smoking!  “Why can’t I lose this weight?” Will keep the weight on you for the rest of your life!

So, right now, make a new choice!  Change the questions to make absolutely sure they will get you the real outcome that you want to have in your life.  And have fun doing it!

For example:  Instead of asking the question, “Why does this always happen to me?”   How about, “What can I do to break this pattern once and for all and have tremendous fun in the process?”  How about changing, “Why am I so stupid?”  To, “How can I be even more intelligent and feel great while I’m doing it?”  Maybe try changing, “Why can’t I quit smoking?” To “How can I easily and quickly be smoke-free for the rest of my life without side effects and withdrawals, and without gaining weight?”  And what if you changed, “Why can’t I lose this weight?”  To “What is the best way for me to be my ideal weight without deprivation and guilt?”

You probably know how powerful a computer is and how sensitive it is to using the proper commands and precise word or words when you are programming or searching.  Where did the world’s greatest computers come from?  That’s right, someone’s mind!  So doesn’t it make sense that the more precise word or words you use on yourself will cause our own computer, your mind, to find the more precise answer?  The Questions are the Answers!  Ask better questions and you will get better answers!

You’re not in this alone.  Check out all my MP3 downloads on my website or schedule your own private and personal live session to have something customized just for you!  If you have any questions or would like some personal guidance or coaching, feel free to give me a call at 303-979-5498  or visit my website at www.AskAHyp.com.  You’ll be glad you did!

Try asking yourself the question, “How can I benefit most by upgrading the habitual questions I have been asking myself?” and maybe “Which one of Lee’s downloads will benefit me the most in this process?” or how about the question, “How can I best use a private session with Lee to totally transform my life forever, now?”

“How to Relax Completely and Reduce or Eliminate Stress and Anxiety Forever”

Today is a special request day to do some more blogging about the topic that most people on this planet want and need more of and that is how to “Relax Completely” and how to “Reduce or Eliminate Stress and Anxiety Forever!”

In our last blog we talked about “what is stress and anxiety”, “what causes it” and “how we can control, reduce or eliminate it forever!” I wrote about the EEG machine and the four levels of brain wave activity: Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta.

I also wrote that, in my opinion, the goal in life is to reach the ultimate, most powerful level of brain wave of activity, which is between 13 to 14 cycles or thoughts per second, consistently.  That is when you are literally in both the Beta level of brain wave activity (reason, logic and choice) and in the Alpha level of brain wave activity at the same time (creativity, memory, intuition and imagination).

Now, I want to take your brain to an even deeper or higher level of consciousness and that is to the level of 7.83 MHz per second.  This is known as the Schumann Earth Harmony frequency.  This is the level between Alpha and Theta.  Here you are in a place between pure creativity and intuition with complete absence of all pain and emotions.  You are in a place beyond the physical, beyond the mental and beyond the emotional states of mind. Every time I allow myself to go to the Schumann Earth Harmony frequency, I feel more aware, more intuitive, more peaceful, more calm, and more in tune with life than ever before.  And I know that if I can do it, darn near anybody can do it.

Now I do want to clarify something here.  If you do not want to go to a higher, deeper and a more in tune with life brain wave frequency, than no one, including myself or even your self can make you.  If you want it to happen, you can make it happen.   Or, as Napoleon Hill, author of the book, Think and Grow Rich once said, “What the mind of man can conceive and believe, he can achieve!”

So here’s how to do it.  (I still recommend following through with the seven steps we discussed in our last blog.  It will lead you to a substantially more calm and relaxed way of life.  However, whether you do or do not here is what I suggest here.)  Follow this closely and you will have a life changing experience.

1)   Find yourself a comfortable place where you will not be disturbed.  Turn your phones completely off (please not on “stun” or “vibrate”).  Turn off your spouse, kids, dogs, doorbell (I do have a sense of humor) and make sure you will not be disturbed for the next ten to twenty minutes.

2)   Find yourself a comfortable body position.  Some people prefer to lie down, some prefer to sit up, and I’ve even seen a person prefer to stand.  This is really about you.

3)    Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing.  Become totally exterior.  You’re going into a purely experiential space.  Just follow your feelings.  Feel the air going in and out, slowly and completely.  (Never be in a hurry to go anywhere.  You’ll get there much “faster” when you avoid “being” in a hurry.)  Be in the moment.

4)   Begin focusing step by step on your whole body either starting at the top of your head and working downward, or by starting at the bottom of your feet and working upward.  Simply relaxing each part of your body as you become aware of it one part at a time. (You can do this by yourself, or by listening to my Relax Completely download or CD available at www.AskAHyp.com.)

5)   After you’ve allowed yourself to focus on and relax your entire body, then bring to mind your feeling of stress or anxiety and notice that that feeling extends out from you some distance into space.

6)   Now go to the farthest edge of that feeling of stress or anxiety and notice that there is a field out past that edge of pure silence and peace.  Let your awareness go out into that silence and peace and look back at that edge way back there of stress and anxiety.  Go out even further into that field until the edge of stress and/anxiety is so far away and distant that it literally falls completely off of your awareness.

7)   Spend as much time as you like “being” in this “silence” and “peace”.  And when you’re ready, just come back and open your eyes or simply drift off into a peaceful and rewarding good night’s sleep.

How to Relax Completely and Reduce or Eliminate Stress and Anxiety Forever

Today I am blogging about a topic that most people on this planet want and need and that is how to “Relax Completely” and how to “Reduce or Eliminate Stress and Anxiety Forever!”

So, let’s talk about what is stress and anxiety, what causes it, and how can we control, reduce or eliminate it forever?

Back in 1973 I was introduced to my first EEG machine.  This is a device that measures human brain wave frequencies.  Before the advent of the EEG machine, people would sometimes be proclaimed dead because of an undetectable heartbeat and were actually “buried alive!”  Now with the use of the EEG machine, doctors can physically “see” whether or not people are still having brain wave activity and perform a much more accurate diagnosis.

That same EEG machine can also show you which level of brain activity you are in at any given moment in time and give you an opportunity to change it!   Knowledge is indeed power!

There are four levels of human brain wave activity:  Beta is the conscious level of brain wave activity and your brain cycles between 13 to 30 cycles, or thoughts per second.  In the Beta level of brain wave activity you are not only fully conscious and aware, but you also have reason, logic and choice.  (Would you like vanilla or chocolate?)

When you slow your brain waves down to 8 to 13 cycles or thoughts per second, you enter into the Alpha level of brain wave activity, which is the unconscious, inner conscious or subconscious mind.  Alpha is where you experience intuition, creativity, memory and imagination.

When you slow your brain waves down even further to 4 to 7 cycles or thoughts per second, you enter into the Theta level of brain wave activity, which is where you experience pain control.

And finally, when your brain waves slow all the way down to between .5 and 4 cycles or thoughts per second, you enter into the Delta level of brain wave activity, which is when you are comatose or in a coma.

The goal in life, in my opinion, is to reach the ultimate, most powerful level of brain wave of activity, which is between 13 to 14 cycles or thoughts per second, consistently.  That is when you are literally in both the Beta level of brain wave activity (reason, logic and choice) and in the Alpha level of brain wave activity at the same time (creativity, memory, intuition and imagination).  Yes, you can have it all!  We even use words to describe being at 13 to 14 cycles per second:  The zone, on autopilot and in flow!

The problem is that since 1973 our brain waves have been going way too fast and we feel scattered, out of control, fried, frazzled, anxious and extremely stressed.  The fastest our brains can possibly go, while allowing us to feel some sense of calm, confidence, peace and authentic power is just under 21 thoughts per second!  In fact, if your brain ever hits 30 thoughts per second, you are dead!

So here’s how to change it forever!  Step one: Eliminate (or at least minimize) substances that push your brain waves way too fast including, all forms of caffeine, refined sugar, bleached enriched flour, decaf, MSG, margarine, trans fats, partionally hydrogenated, all dairy products that are not organic, all tobacco and nicotine products and excessive alcohol.  Step three: Do your best to get rid of “why” questionsUpgrade your questions to “Who?”, “What?”, “Where?”, “When?”, “Which?” and “How?” questions.  Step three: Drink a lot of water!  (I recommend at least 80 ounces or more of fresh clean healthy water every day.)  Step four: Look Up, Smile and Take a Deep Breath often.  Step five:  Move your body for at least 30 or more minutes every day.  (I call it aerobic activity.)  Step six: Practice some form of mental relaxation everyday.  (Listen to my Relax Completely download or CD every day.)  And Step seven: Visualize your life exactly the way you want it to be!  (This, too, you can do by listening to my “Plan Your Successful Day/Use Your Mind at Night” download or CD.)

Increasing Your Confidence/ Championship Confidence

For weeks I’ve been blogging about, “The Secrets to Permanent Weight Control” and I sincerely hope you’re still using them, enjoying them personally and sharing them.  (“Remember, that which we share expands and that which we withhold deteriorates”).

Last week I blogged about a topic that is actually another “Secret to Permanent Weight Control” but goes much, much further and that is “Your Perfect Self Image”.  (“Keep Perfecting Your Self Image constantly!”)

This week our blog is about a topic that is enhanced as a result of you having “Permanent Weight Control” and by you “Perfecting Your Self Image” and that is “Increasing Your Confidence.”  (How much more confidence will you have when you already have “Permanent Weight Control” and “Your Perfect Self Image?”)

How many of us would enjoy more Confidence?  I’m guessing probably darn near all of us.  So listen up.  Having worked with champions in pretty much every sport and highly successful people in most every area of life, I have found profound consistencies that exist throughout extremely confident individuals.  In fact, the bottom line in everyone’s level of confidence is…the way that we think!  Think like a confident person and you will be a more confident person!  Think like a Champion and you will be a Champion!  So how do we do that?

Take a close look at the word “confidence”.   From its root form, the word “confidence” means, “already having done it”.  Are you confident that you can put on your shoes?  Why?  Because you have probably done it countless times!  Are you confident you can take a shower or brush your teeth?  Why?  Because you have done it before!  Anything you are confident in doing you have no doubt either done it before yourself, or you have seen someone you feel comparable to having done it successfully.

Now take a look at the things you aren’t so confident in doing.  How about public speaking, skydiving, flying an airplane, asking someone out on a date or asking for a job or for a pay increase?  How confident are you in those areas of your life?  Why?  Because you’ve probably not done it before or even worse, your “already having done it” means, “I really blew it the last time I tried!

In order for you to have excellent confidence in any area of life requires you to “already having done it”-successfully to your satisfaction!  How can you “already having done it” if you never have done it successfully to your satisfaction yet?  One way is to “already having done it in your mind”.  Rehearse, or practice, in your mind you, or someone you feel comparable to doing whatever you want to feel confident about successfully in your mind.  Do this over and over in your mind until you feel it in your body.  While you’re doing this in your mind, add the feelings, sounds, smells and tastes of already being confident as well as what you would say to yourself if you knew you were already confident.

Another way to have more confidence is to imagine that you are inside of a person that you know would have excellent confidence doing the thing that you would love to have more confidence in doing.  Simply imagine what that person would see, hear, smell, taste and feel and repeat that in your mind until it feels real for you.

And a third way to have more confidence is to get rid of the old movie that might still be your head about a time when “I really blew it the last time I tried!”  Just run that old movie backwards and forwards so much in your mind that you feel relieved from any attachment to it.  Then replace it with a new movie of “already having done it”-successfully to your satisfaction
